Three is a magic digitby ~zodiac-gemini

Contests / 2006 / Art of Threes Resolution

My second submission for "The art of threes" contest. Goes under wallpapers.

I wanted to do something unique, but still something that I felt was a result of how I work and still something connected to deviantart. The entire piece was created using nothing but photoshop 5.5. What I wanted most with this piece was to reflect the different sides of deviantART.

The very distinct "3" represents the future and the launch of DAv3, and behind it, you can see the chaos of the past. Glowing lines representing the different ways of art, bubbles of diffenrent sizes showing the growth of deviantART and the big circle behind the "3" was supposed to stand for the everlasting source of imagination and creation.

The chaos is also representing how I feel about the world right now, and I thought this was important as deviantART is nothing without its members. Sometimes I manage to create something that desribes my present mood, and this is one of few... The colour theme, if you didn't notice, was borrowed from deviantART to make that special connection I was searching for. I wanted people to think: "yeah, this is deviant, and therefore it belongs to deviantART".

And of course the "3". I wanted the number 3 to be special, and I wanted to push photoshop to its limits, and I'm quite satisfied with the result. The number stands for, well, DA's third year, the launch of DAv3 and for the year of 2003 (I didn't miss anything, w00t, lol)... But I also thought that it could stand for the next three years coming, cuz god, are we gonna see some awesome art coming up the next three years? I do think so. Well, my essay is coming to an end. I hope you'll enjoy the image!
